Vessel Powersports Inc.: Honda Parts, Trail Time, and 500K+ Reasons the Community Comes First

Built for the Bog | Pensacola, Florida

If you’ve spent any time in the Honda ATV/UTV world, you’ve probably seen the name Vessel Powersports pop up—on a rig, on a part, on a shirt at an event, or in your feed. Based in Pensacola, Florida, Vessel Powersports Inc. is owned by Sidney Mathis, and his mission is simple: build quality aftermarket Honda parts, show up for the community, and keep the culture fun, welcoming, and real.

He’s not trying to be the loudest company in the space—he’s trying to be the most present. On the trails. At the parks. At events. And behind the scenes, putting in the work to keep products moving for riders who actually use them.

Built by Honda Riders, for Honda Riders

Vessel Powersports specializes in aftermarket parts for Honda ATVs and UTVs, backed by a massive content engine and a loyal audience of 500,000+ across platforms. But what really stands out isn’t just the reach—it’s the approach.

Sidney doesn’t come in with a “sell, sell, sell” mindset. He comes in with a community-first mindset. The parts matter, but the people matter more.

And that shows in how he operates: he travels to 40+ events every year, giving away free merch including Vessel’s signature koozies and products—not just for marketing, but to build genuine connections with the riders who keep the sport alive.

How He Got Started

Like a lot of modern off-road stories, it started with social media… and a little bit of naïve optimism.

Sidney originally launched the pages thinking, “If I can hit 5,000 followers, I’ll get free products from small companies.”

Turns out—nope.

Instead of freebies, what came next was the real grind: he partnered with a Honda parts company, bought and resold his partner’s products, and then hit a wall when that company couldn’t keep up with demand. Sidney still wanted to serve customers and keep products moving—so he made the pivot.

He leaned on friends who had the equipment to manufacture what he needed, and from there his brand grew—fast.

Today, he has expanded into a 10,000+ sq ft warehouse with his own manufacturing equipment, and he’s built a team committed to doing things the right way.

The mindset behind it is clear: build something that lasts, with people who want to win together.

What Makes Him Different

Vessel’s uniqueness isn’t a gimmick. It’s culture.

Sidney is known for being friendly with everyone, and for showing up like a rider—not just a vendor. The community comes first, and you’ll find him doing what the rest of us are doing: hanging out, meeting people, and staying out on the trails.

At the same time, he’s quick to give credit to the team that holds it down when he’s out at parks and events:

“We truly are a company that is built by off-road enthusiasts for off-road enthusiasts—which wouldn’t be possible without our team that stays back at the shop every day to keep producing products for us.”

That’s leadership—and it’s also real appreciation for the people behind the brand.

His Favorite Place to Ride

When asked for a favorite riding spot, Sidney didn’t hesitate:

Busco Beach (North Carolina)

Why Busco? Because it’s basically Honda heaven.

It has the water that Honda riders love (Sidney says it’s “all the water us Honda riders could ask for”), plus trails and mud for when you want to switch it up. But beyond the terrain, the thing that keeps him coming back is the vibe:

  • great atmosphere

  • quality people

  • no drama

  • just riding

In other words: the kind of place the off-road community is supposed to feel like.

One Tip From Sidney

This one hits, whether you’re brand new or you’ve been doing this for years:

“Find quality people to be around.”

Sidney’s take is straightforward: the people you ride with will either make your experience or break it. If you’re stepping into the off-road scene, don’t just chase parks or builds—build your circle.

And if you don’t have that circle yet? He says he’s always at the park trying to grow the community of like-minded people.

A Quote to Remember

Sidney’s featured quote is one of those lines that feels like hard-earned wisdom:

“I may not know what to do at this current time, but I now know what not to do.”

That’s growth. That’s experience. That’s the kind of mindset that builds a company—and a community—without pretending it’s always been easy.

What He’s Most Excited About This Season

This riding season isn’t just about new products (he has “cool products planned for the year”). What he’s most excited about is something bigger:

  • growing relationships with riders he meets on the trails

  • strengthening the connection between the brand and the community

  • continuing to show up in person, not just online

Because for Sidney, the goal isn’t just customers—it’s community.

One Last Thing He Wanted to Share

If there’s a thread running through Vessel Powersports, it’s this:

Take care of your people.

Sidney put it plainly:

“Take care of your team around you and they will take care for you.”

That’s how he builds something that lasts—on the trails, in business, and in life.
