The inaugural Off-Road ICON Awards, presented by Gator Waders, will take place during the Offroad Products Expo in January 2027.

It’s more than another awards ceremony.

It’s the beginning of a new annual tradition designed to bring the off-road community together for a formal night of recognition, celebration, and connection.

For one night, the people normally covered in mud, working behind the scenes, turning wrenches, organizing events, building businesses, creating content, and keeping this community moving will have an opportunity to dress up, come together, and celebrate what they’ve built.

This is Off-Road’s Biggest Night.

The goal is simple: shine a spotlight on the people and companies making an impact throughout the off-road world.

Off-Road’s Biggest Night.

A new South Carolina law will soon give qualifying UTV owners a legal way to drive their machines on certain public roads.

The law has been signed and will take effect in November 2026. It creates a registration process for eligible side-by-sides, but it does not make every UTV street legal or open every road to UTV traffic.

Which UTVs Qualify?

To qualify under the new law, a UTV must generally:

• Be a four-wheel-drive side-by-side
• Have a steering wheel and non-straddle seating
• Have an engine of at least 450cc
• Be 80 inches wide or less
• Have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 4,000 pounds or less

What Will Riders Need?

Drivers must be at least 17 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

The UTV must also have:

• A South Carolina title and registration
• Liability insurance
• A rear license plate
• Seat belts at every seating position
• Working headlights
• Brake lights and taillights
• Turn signals

Drivers must carry their license, registration and proof of insurance while operating the UTV on a public road.

Everyone in the UTV must wear a seat belt. Children under eight years old cannot ride in a UTV on a public highway, and riders under 21 must wear the required protective gear.

UTVs with modified exhaust systems that make them louder than the original factory design will not be allowed on public roads.

Where Can You Ride?

The new law does not allow UTVs everywhere.

UTVs cannot be driven on interstate highways, and the South Carolina Department of Transportation may restrict UTV use on other roads for safety reasons.

Cities and counties may also create their own rules covering:

• Approved roads
• Riding hours
• Nighttime operation
• Local riding areas

UTVs may only be allowed on roads with speed limits of 55 mph or less.

If a city or county does not create its own ordinance, a registered UTV may generally be driven on secondary roads with speed limits of 55 mph or less and within 10 miles of the address listed on the registration.

How Much Will Registration Cost?

The state registration fee will be $10 every two years.

Owners will need to provide proof of ownership and insurance before receiving a registration and license plate.

Registered UTV owners will be exempt from county property taxes on the UTV, although sales taxes and some road-use fees may still apply.

What This Means for South Carolina Riders

This law is a major step for South Carolina’s off-road community.

It may allow riders to legally travel from their homes, campgrounds or communities to nearby destinations and trail access points without having to trailer their machines for every short trip.

However, riders will still need to pay close attention to local rules. A registered UTV will not automatically be allowed on every city, county or state road.

Before riding in November, owners should confirm:

• Their UTV meets the legal definition
• Their equipment meets the requirements
• Their insurance covers public-road operation
• Their registration and license plate are complete
• Their city or county allows UTVs on the intended road

The new law creates a legal path for limited public-road use, but riders will still be responsible for knowing where they can ride and following all state and local requirements.

What started as a joke between a few friends in 2018 has grown into something much bigger.

Mike and Randi took their love for off-roading and turned it into WTF Off-Road, a growing race series that brings together riders, racers, families, parks, vendors and businesses from across the off-road community.

Now, the WTF Bounty Cour$e is heading to RATS ATV & Off-Road Park in Camden, Arkansas, July 9–12, 2026, for Stop #15—and this one is shaping up to be a huge weekend.

With $42,000 in race payouts, giveaways, food vendors and classes for both ATVs and side-by-sides, there will be plenty of action on and off the course.

A Full Weekend at RATS ATV Park

The gates open Thursday, July 9, at 8:00 a.m., giving riders and spectators plenty of time to settle in before the racing begins.

Admission is $75 for the full weekend or $35 for Saturday only. Children ages 10 and under are admitted free.

Even those who are not bringing an ATV or side-by-side can still get close to the action. Guests are allowed to drive a regular vehicle to the race course, making it easier for families and spectators to come out and enjoy the event.

Weekend Schedule

Thursday, July 9

Gates open at 8:00 a.m.

Friday, July 10

Vendors open at noon, followed by race registration at 3:00 p.m.

Registration closes at 5:30 p.m., and the drivers meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

ATV classes and the SXS small-tire races begin at 6:30 p.m., with awards presented after the races.

Saturday, July 11

Registration and vendors open at 10:00 a.m.

Registration closes at noon, followed by the drivers meeting at 12:30 p.m.

SXS racing begins at 1:00 p.m., with awards following the races.

Sunday, July 12

The final gate entry is at 6:00 a.m., and the gates close at 1:00 p.m.

$42,000 in Race Payouts

There is serious money on the line at Stop #15.

The ATV class payouts include:

• First place: $2,500
• Second place: $1,250
• Third place: $850
• Fourth place: $200 SuperATV gift card

The SXS class payouts include:

• First place: $3,000
• Second place: $1,500
• Third place: $850
• Fourth place: $200 SuperATV gift card

There are also additional payouts for female racers and youth competitors.

The fastest lady will receive $900, second place will receive $500, and third place will receive $200. The fastest youth racer between the ages of 12 and 18 will receive $750.

An $8,600 Pro Class

The Pro Class brings an additional $8,600 in payouts, sponsored by Houston Motorsports.

The Pro Class payout includes:

• First place: $4,500
• Second place: $2,000
• Third place: $1,500
• Fourth place: $600

The Pro Class is invite-only and requires prior racing experience, although a limited number of spots may still be available.

Racers must have a helmet, full harness and window net. Any machine entered in the Pro Class cannot be raced in another class, and Pro Class racers cannot compete in any other SXS classes.

ATV and SXS Tire Classes

The ATV and SXS divisions are separated into three tire-size classes:

• Small Stock: up to 34.5 inches
• Medium: 35 to 49.5 inches
• Big: 50 inches and up

Entry fees are $80 for one run or $150 for two runs.

The weekend is about more than racing.

Food vendors scheduled to be at the course Friday and Saturday include Casey’s BBQ, Woods Place, Hillbilly Shack, Fizzy Girls Soda Shop and Grindhead Coffee.

There is something special about an event that is built around more than riding. Family Trail Fest at Mudslingers Off-Road Trails is shaping up to be one of those weekends where the mud community gets to do what it does best: show up, ride hard, make memories, and bring families together.

From July 3–5, 2026, Mudslingers Off-Road Trails in Woodland, Mississippi will host Family Trail Fest, a patriotic weekend created in partnership with Gibby’s and the Muddin Mamas. This event is packed with trail rides, contests, music, fireworks, family fun, and plenty of mud.

For Where2Mud, this one hits close to the heart. Both the Gibby’s and the Muddin Mamas are Where2Mud Ambassadors, and we are so proud of the way they are using their platforms to unite mudding families. They are not just putting on an event; they are helping create a place where riders, kids, parents, and friends can come together to celebrate community, freedom, and America turning 250.

A Weekend Built for Families

Family Trail Fest kicks off Friday night with a Party at the Barn at 7 p.m. As the trails cool down, the party heats up with music, dancing, good vibes, and time to hang out with the off-road community before Saturday’s full schedule begins.

Saturday is loaded from morning until night with something for every kind of rider and every age group.

The day starts with The Muddy Duck Hunt, where patriotic rubber ducks will be hidden throughout the park. Riders can start searching as soon as they hit the trails. Anyone who finds a USA duck can bring it to the stage Saturday at 7 p.m. for a chance to win goodies.

At 11 a.m., the Mud Machines & Meet-Up will take place by the pond. Families can meet the Gibby’s and the Muddin Mamas, let the little ones hop in the bikes for photos, grab pictures, and check out the rides up close. This is exactly the kind of moment that makes the mud community feel like family.

Then at 12:30 p.m., everyone can join in for the Family Trail Ride, also meeting by the pond. It is a chance for the whole crew to cruise together, enjoy the outdoors, and make those muddy memories that stick.

Mud, Contests, and Patriotic Fun

At 4:30 p.m., things get extra messy with the Bounty Hole Mud Dash. This one is a foot race straight through the bounty hole, with the kids kicking things off first and the parents going head-to-head right after. Expect slips, slides, laughs, full-send chaos, and plenty of mud.

The patriotic contests begin at 6 p.m. with Stars, Stripes, & Side x Sides in front of the stage. Riders are encouraged to deck out their machines in their boldest red, white, and blue style and compete for the title of most patriotic ride.

At 6:30 p.m., the party moves into Stars, Stripes, & Style, where attendees can show off their best patriotic look. Red, white, and blue are the dress code, and bragging rights plus goodies are on the line.

At 7 p.m., everyone will gather at the stage for Winner Winner, Mud Dinner. Contest winners will be announced, ducks will be turned in, prizes will be handed out, and a few extra goodies may be tossed to the crowd.

The night closes with the Red, White & Boom Party at 7:30 p.m., a DJ party at the stage leading into the 9 p.m. fireworks show. With music, lights, a full crowd, and fireworks overhead, it is the kind of finale that makes a holiday weekend unforgettable.

Some builds are loud because of the parts. Some builds are loud because of the colors. And some builds are loud because they have a personality all their own.

Shawn Micheal’s 2023 Honda Rancher DCT IRS, better known as The Tea Quad, checks every box.

Built out of Omaha, Nebraska, this Honda Rancher is a self-built, Twisted Tea-themed machine that has become exactly what a mud build should be: personal, creative, functional, and impossible to ignore.

For Shawn, riding started from a place that means more than just buying a four-wheeler and hitting the trails.

“I got started after my brother passed away,” Shawn said. “My good buddy sold me a 2000 Honda Foretrax.”

That first machine opened the door to the off-road world, and over time, riding became more than a hobby. It became a way to connect, build, create, and bring smiles to the people around him.

And with The Tea Quad, that is exactly what he does.

The Build

At the center of this build is a 2023 Honda Rancher DCT IRS, a machine known for being dependable, capable, and ready to work. But Shawn did not leave it anywhere close to stock.

Based out of Dublin, Georgia, Thomas has been riding for eight years, and his build is a perfect example of what Stock2Stacked is all about. It is not just about who can spend the most money or build the wildest machine. It is about creativity, grit, personality, and taking a ride from factory to fully your own.

For Thomas, this Defender was built by him with help from friends, and that makes the finished product even better.

The Build

Thomas’s 2023 Can-Am Defender HD9 has been transformed into a mud-ready machine with a custom look and serious presence.

The build includes:

• Custom audio built by Thomas through Trippin Audio
• An extremely loud sound setup that gets attention fast

The two things people notice first are the paint job and the audio. That makes sense, because this build is loud in every way — visually and literally.

Thomas’s custom audio work is a major part of the personality of the machine. As the man behind Trippin Audio, he did not just add sound to the build. He made the audio one of the main features.

Built With Purpose

When asked what inspired the direction of the build, Thomas said the goal was to build something that everybody could afford.

That answer stands out.

In a world where off-road builds can get expensive fast, Thomas wanted to show that you can still create something custom, fun, and attention-grabbing without making it feel impossible for the everyday rider. The build has size, sound, color, and attitude, but it also has a practical message behind it: you can start where you are and build something you are proud of.

That does not mean it is easy, though.

Thomas’s advice for someone starting their first build is straight to the point:

“It is not cheap.”

And he is right. Even a budget-minded build takes planning, patience, and money. Tires, wheels, suspension, audio, fabrication, and custom touches all add up. But for riders who love the lifestyle, the finished product is worth it.

Like most true builders, Thomas is already thinking about what comes next.

The Defender may already be stacked, but future plans include changing up the paint job, swapping to different wheels and tires, and adding even more audio.

We want to highlight the real riders, garage builds, shop builds, weekend warriors, and mud-loving people who are making this community what it is. Some builds are known everywhere. Some are still getting dialed in one ride at a time. But all of them tell a story.

This week’s feature takes us to Florida with Steven Barr of Winter Springs, Florida, and his 2018 Polaris General 1000-4, better known as the G-Wagon.

And let’s just say — this thing is not built for blending in.

A Lifetime Around Riding

Steven has been riding since he was little. Like a lot of people in the mud community, his love for off-road started early, spending time on four-wheelers and being around the lifestyle from a young age.

For him, riding has always been about more than the machine.

It is about meeting new people, hanging out, and being part of a community that shows up for each other. That is one of the things he loves most about the mud riding world.

“Everyone helps everybody,” Steven said.

That one sentence says a whole lot about why this sport means so much to so many people.

Meet the G-Wagon

Steven’s ride is a 2018 Polaris General 1000-4 named the G-Wagon.

The build is a mix of self-built work and shop-built upgrades, with a major hand from Wicked Off-Road in Groveland, Florida. Wicked Off-Road built the custom lift setup and has helped turn this Polaris General into a machine that is big, bold, loud, bright, and very much built for the mud.

Currently, the G-Wagon is sitting on 48” Tirons wrapped around 24×7 ITP wheels, but Steven already has plans to go even bigger. By mid-summer, the machine is expected to move up to 52s.

Because apparently, 48s are just the warm-up.

The Build Breakdown

The G-Wagon sits on a custom 8” lift built by Wicked Off-Road, paired with PCF uniball upper and lower components and 8” portals.

The drivetrain has also been heavily upgraded. Steven is running a fully built gear-to-gear transmission by SuperATV, complete with a 30% reduction and turf delete. The engine is mostly stock, aside from a tune and exhaust, but the clutching has been dialed in with custom-tuned Duraclutches primary and secondary clutches.

Steven said he actually prefers the Duraclutches over the STM setup he previously had in the machine.

The lighting setup is another major part of the build. The G-Wagon has 10 rock lights and a set of LED Creations 12V portal lights, making sure this thing shines when the sun goes down.

And then there is the audio.

Steven has eight 8” full-range PRV Neo speakers in the roof powered by a PRV 5K, plus two DD Audio 12s in a custom full-bed box built by ES Mobile Audio, running on a Sound Digital 3K. To keep all of that powered, the build includes two Limitless Lithium Nano HD V3 batteries and a Hot Shot 1000-watt stator kit.

In other words, the G-Wagon is not just showing up to the ride.

It is bringing the party with it.

What Gets the Most Attention?

When people see the G-Wagon, Steven says the things that get the most attention are the audio, the lights, and the sparkling powder coat.

That makes perfect sense. Between the size, the sound system, the glow, and the shine, this is the kind of build that makes people stop and take a second look.

But like most true builds, it is still a work in progress.

Still Under Construction

Steven says the build is not finished yet.

Next up, he plans to add a custom tower bar with six 8” compression driver speakers. The machine is also heading to the fab shop next month to have the front A-arms redone and the portals raked more.

He is also planning to change the full powder coat to candy red.

One of the biggest challenges so far has been getting the suspension geometry right. Steven says they are still working out some of the bugs in the front end to get the alignment exactly where it needs to be.

That is the real side of big builds. The photos may look finished, but anyone who has built a machine knows there is always another adjustment, another upgrade, another fix, and another idea.

Where You Can See It

Steven rides mostly at Hog Waller and Canaveral Groves in Florida. With a busy schedule, he does not get to travel too far to other parks, but if you are riding in Florida, there is a chance you may see the G-Wagon out there doing exactly what it was built to do.

Advice for New Builders

Steven’s advice to anyone starting their first build is simple and honest:

Start small.

“Start with a small build to get your toes in the water before jumping in balls deep,” he said. “The sport gets expensive fast. That 40K will turn 80K quick.”

That is probably one of the most accurate pieces of advice anyone can give in the off-road world. Builds are fun. Builds are addicting. Builds can also get expensive in a hurry.

But for the people who love it, that is part of the process.

Built for the Bog

When asked why his build is Built for the Bog, Steven had the perfect answer:

“Because it’s too big for anything else.”

And honestly, that pretty much sums it up.

Steven Barr’s G-Wagon is loud, bright, lifted, stretched, powered up, still evolving, and clearly built with personality. It is the kind of machine that reminds us why we started the Stock2Stacked series in the first place.

Some builds are made to ride. Some are made to turn heads. And some are built with so much personality, grit, late nights, and love that they become a rolling reflection of the person behind the wheel.

For Cam Sullivan, also known online as Sassy Obsession, her 2016 Polaris RZR XP Turbo named Sassy is exactly that. Based out of Brainerd, Minnesota, Cam has been riding for as long as she can remember. Her off-road story started young, first behind the wheel of a little Barbie Jeep, then on a Suzuki 60 four-wheeler, and eventually on her dad’s Yamaha Grizzly 660. Riding has always been part of her life, but things changed in 2021 when she met her boyfriend and was introduced to the world of custom builds, bigger horsepower, and machines with serious personality.

That was when Cam knew she wanted one of her own.

Today, she has not one, but two RZRs: Sassy, her mud machine, and Boujee, a 2017 Polaris RZR XP Turbo. But Sassy is the build that truly lives up to her name.

Sassy sits on 42-inch BKT tires with 24-inch Fuel wheels and is packed with performance and durability upgrades. The build includes L&W Fab suspension, High Lifter 6-inch portals with 45% reduction, SuperATV Rhino C Series driveshaft, Rhino 2.0 axles, SuperATV 3-inch lift, Mega Keller ball joints, SuperATV traction bars, STM clutches, a Bikeman Performance Mega Mo Turbo, and charge tubes. The custom exhaust and cage were built by her boyfriend, while the painted plastics were done by a friend.

And while her boyfriend deserves a big part of the credit for the physical build, Cam was not just standing on the sidelines. She put in her own work, including powder coating everything herself through her own powder coating company. That detail alone makes Sassy more than just a custom machine. It makes it personal.

The inspiration for the build came from Boss Whiskey Biz’s old RZR, Sweet N Low. Cam said the second she saw it, she knew she wanted her future husband to build something like that for her. At the time, she had no idea that a year and a half later, that dream would be sitting in front of her. Originally, she planned to go with a pink cage and white plastics, but after seeing someone else with a similar color combo, she switched directions and chose teal — a color combination she had not seen anywhere else.

That choice paid off.

When people see Sassy, the first thing they notice is the color. The second thing they notice is the sound. Cam says the bright colors and straight-piped exhaust get the most attention, and you can hear her coming from a mile away. It is bold, loud, and unapologetically hers.

But like most true builds, Sassy did not come together easily. The biggest challenge was getting everything finished before the first event of the year. Cam and her boyfriend pulled plenty of all-nighters to make it happen, proving that the best builds are not just bought. They are built with time, pressure, patience, and a whole lot of stubborn determination.

And according to Cam, the build is never truly finished.

“There’s always things to add and upgrades to make,” she shared. She is already hoping to go bigger next year.

Cam’s second machine, Boujee, is also getting its own upgrades. Boujee is a 2017 Polaris RZR XP Turbo and was actually Evolution Powersports’ test machine from 2017, meaning it already has their clutch kit, turbo, and charge tubes. The build also includes Lonestar Racing suspension, SuperATV steering rack, Rhino 2.0 axles, Rhino U Series driveshaft, L&W Fab tie rods and radius rods, a custom cage, custom exhaust, and painted plastics. Cam also recently added 32-inch Pro Armor XG tires with 15-inch MSA beadlocks from TireWiz in Buffalo, Minnesota.

For Cam, though, the machines are only part of the story. What she loves most about riding is the people. Whether she is trail riding around Minnesota or traveling to mud parks out of state, she says she always meets amazing people. To her, the mud community feels like family.

That is what makes this lifestyle bigger than tires, parts, horsepower, or paint. It is about the people who help, support, cheer, film, build, ride, and show up.

Cam gives a special shoutout to her family for being her biggest supporters, her boyfriend for building two “bad ass machines” for her, her sister with JS Photography for capturing such great footage, and everyone who has helped make her dreams a reality.

And he is right.

For mud, he says he would have named Boggs and Boulders until recently, but River Run left a big impression. The deep-cut trails, off-camber sections, and even surprise rock on the backside of the mountain made it an unforgettable experience.

As for dunes, while there have not been as many dune rides over the last twenty years, Waynoka’s Little Sahara still stands out. At around 1,600 acres, it may not be the largest, but the sand trail system inside the park makes it an absolute blast.

It is clear Jason and Cassi appreciate every kind of terrain — and that wide appreciation is reflected in the kind of event they have built.

Advice for Riders

Jason’s advice for new riders is simple and smart: just go ride.

In the mudding and off-road world, innovation usually comes from necessity. For Jason and LaRaye Fortner, owners of 4D Shields in Palestine, Texas, it came from heartbreak, healing, and a simple problem that needed a real solution.

Today, 4D Shields is known for one thing: protecting glass windshields on UTVs and buggies while they’re being hauled on open trailers. But the story behind the brand runs much deeper than plastic and hardware.

A Solution Born From Real Life

When the Fortners purchased their Polaris 1000 XP, it came equipped with a glass windshield. Not long after, their family experienced an unimaginable loss with the passing of their oldest son, Dylan.
Jason spent a lot of time traveling back and forth to their deer lease, using the outdoors as a way to process his grief and find peace again. During those long hauls, one concern kept coming up: how vulnerable that glass windshield was on the trailer.

He searched for covers that actually protected the glass and came up empty.

So he did what off-roaders do best.

He built one.

Jason sketched out a design that could truly protect the windshield during transport, contacted a patent attorney, and turned that idea into a real product. That design became the foundation of 4D Shields.

The company name honors their four children: Dylan, Dalton, Dawson, and Destini.
